lyrics
While we all sit and debate, the big guys be taking our fate. Are we letting go of the reigns? Well, I finally figured it out, why I’m here, ain’t got no doubt: I was sent to see the ways we could all change. These distractions they seem here to stay. They’re trying to take what we could’ve done today. Trying to make us fight. They’re trying to steal our lights. When will we shine bright? I want, nothing at all. And I hope, we can remember how small we are.
I been sittin’ outside, since the airplanes died. And I know the void betwixt hasn’t moved anywhere at all. It just got lost in the fall of the illusions, and our masks were torn off. So I guess I’ll keep playin’ my song about love and peace and equality. Beyond what’s right and wrong. Take it or leave it. Scorn or believe it: We all got a right, we all got a right to carry on. I want, nothing at all. And I hope, we remember how small we are.
What I need in my life is some truth. All the greed hiding under the roof of the banks that we use and the jails that abuse and the institutions who refuse to admit they are wrong. It’s been way too long. Here we stand on the edge of a brand-new dawn, and a brand-new way, and I can’t understand why we’d flush it away to return to a norm, instead of reform. And change our steps, with no regrets, forgive each other and stand instead in solidarity with diversity, on the brink of possibility. Is it just too hard to see, that the change that we are comes naturally? Are we just too scared to be free, to accept the reality? That our lives are short, and our hearts are small. No matter how tall we are or how far we fall, we might as well leap and trust what we be: A collective humanity one with the earth and the sea, energy floating free, in a space womb of reciprocity. I want, nothing at all. I hope, we remember how small we are.
